Gesso underpainting with Watercolor

This was inspired by one of Libit’s class projects. The watercolor paper is painted with Gesso, an acrylic paint. Then I dripped watercolors on to the dried paper. When everything dried I pullout the watercolored areas that shaped the pelicans. Then I added highlights and darker watercolor paint to accent the shapes. It looks toxic [...]

Loose Painting

One of the goals of many watercolor artists is to be able to paint loose. Because watercolor is difficult to control, some artist work very hard to keep it under control. But wonderful things can happen when the paint is allowed to flow. This is one of my attempts at being loose.
